I just got back from two very successful video and photo shoots at a couple of recent NOVA installations.
The first location was a training room located at Mr. Copy, a Xerox copy center located in San Diego, CA. The facility recently installed several 26 Series tables, most with The Trolley™ E-Class monitor lift system, connected by NOVALinked™. The room utilizes a Crestron™ controller which allows the trainer to raise or lower the flat panel displays whenever needed — with the touch of a button. The furniture includes an iMod™ compartment which allows all of the cabling and wiring to be hidden in the modesty panel of each unit. A modern looking perforated metal modesty cover keeps the behind-the-scenes technology out of sight and out of mind.
We spoke with Derek Shebby, Director of Training and Development at Mr. Copy and he explained how the room was utilized and how it has made a difference when training new employees. Mr. Copy discovered NOVA when attending a meeting at another branch office located in Itasca, IL, where NOVA products are also used.
Our second stop was at Phoenix College in Phoenix, AZ. Part of the Arizona community college system, Phoenix College recently installed several 26 Series units as part of their EMT training program. The room, which was completely remodeled, features Trolley™ E-Class monitor lifts, networked together by NOVALinked™ for complete instructor-control of the classroom. These units feature an iMod™ compartment with laminate modesty covers that conceal all of the wiring and cabling from view. This solution also eliminates any accidental disconnections that can result if the user gets tangled in cords underneath the desk.
Scott Crowley, Director of the EMT training program explained how the classroom was utilized for more than just EMT training. It has become a source of pride for the college as well as the community.
