From time to time our customers ask, "Is The Trolley™ UL Listed?" The answer is a simple "yes." But, if you're not familiar with exactly what that means, you might be thinking "so what." Let's take a look at what goes into getting a UL Listing and why it's important.
Electrical equipment that is listed by a certification organization such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL) provides peace of mind to consumers, workers, installers, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), and insurance companies, that the equipment has complied with established safety requirements. Protecting the health and safety of the general public, especially in learning and working environments has always been a priority for NOVA and most manufacturers. A UL Listing provides companies' products with long-term value that promote business continuity, reliability, and employee safety. A UL Listing Mark on a product is a declaration that at the time of manufacture, the product complied with all applicable UL certification requirements in effect at that time. These requirements are safety standards and are intended to reduce the risks of fire, electrical shock, and personal injury.
To earn a UL Listing on a particular product, such as The Trolley™ monitor lift, there are a number of requirements that must be met. The product must go through evaluation and testing to insure compliance with nationally recognized safety standards and requirements. Once compliance has been demonstrated, the manufacturer (that's NOVA in this case) must agree to unannounced ongoing follow-up factory inspections to verify continued compliance with UL requirements. Once the product has shown that it complies with the applicable nationally recognized safety standards, then an authorization to apply a UL Mark can be granted.
NOVA currently has a Component Recognition Mark — indicated by this symbol: . It is used only on components that later will be included in a complete product that will subsequently be tested by UL. In this case the power control unit located inside The Trolley™ monitor lift has received the Component Recognition Mark from Underwriters Laboratories. This listing is valid in the United States and Canada.
NOVA's current UL Listing certification number for The Trolley™ H-Class and E-Class is: E326254. You can also download a copy of the certificate (below) or contact NOVA's Customer Support group at 800-730-6682 for more information.
