Personally, I think it's awesome that students at all levels (K-University) have so much technology at their fingertips. From traditional CPUs to digital tablets, students have grown-up with technology and it has become a part of their daily life. Add Smart Phones to the mix as well and the many teaching tools, such as smart boards, and digital projectors — it almost seems technology has been embraced by all and is simply a natural extension of classroom curriculum.

With the changing of society, it seems that the definition of the textbook is evolving into a new and broader definition. When thinking of such an object, one might think of the bulky, expensive books of old, when the latest editions cost about triple what an older edition might crop up to be when found used online. These books weigh an inconvenient amount, not only by themselves, but when coupled with the plethora of books one needs in order to be prepared for a semester in college, they become quite cumbersome. With the physical annoyances aside, the shift into interactive versions of textbooks has become almost essential to captivate the attentions of the up and coming generation.

Technology in the classroom has come a long way, not only for the students, but for their teachers, as well. A vast array of products can now be found to aid a teacher in their struggle to keep students interested. Teachers are opting for more control in their classrooms by embracing these new advances and are seeing a difference in their students' ability to retain information, resulting in a higher level of success in the classroom. Teachers will no longer feel as though their classrooms are being controlled by the technologies meant to be helping their students; they, themselves, now have many options to choose from in the fight for their students' attention and success.
According to School Planning & Management/College Planning & Management Magazine, the proper selection of school furniture and equipment plays an important role in creating an effective, high performance learning environment.

The response to our Top Ten iPhone/iPad Apps for the Classroom and Beyond article and our follow-up blog NOVA's Top Ten: Business iPad/iPhone Apps was pretty positive. So we thought we'd also feature some of the top educational apps that run on the Android operating system.
My most recent stop on my ongoing video/photo tour was a return to Towson University located in Towson, Maryland. This beautiful campus is home to more than 21,000 students.
We had visited them in April 2011 to grab some footage and photos of their NOVA classrooms in their School of Nursing and the College of Liberal Arts. This time around, we returned to the College of Liberal Arts to take a peek at a couple of new classrooms that include the NOVALinked™ system.

I just got back from two very successful video and photo shoots at a couple of recent NOVA installations.
The first location was a training room located at Mr. Copy, a Xerox copy center located in San Diego, CA. The facility recently installed several 26 Series tables, most with The Trolley™ E-Class monitor lift system, connected by NOVALinked™. The room utilizes a Crestron™ controller which allows the trainer to raise or lower the flat panel displays whenever needed — with the touch of a button. The furniture includes an iMod™ compartment which allows all of the cabling and wiring to be hidden in the modesty panel of each unit. A modern looking perforated metal modesty cover keeps the behind-the-scenes technology out of sight and out of mind.

Wherever you work with a computer, be it at an office, in a classroom, or at a desk in a cubicle, your furniture can either work with you to increase your productivity or work against you to the point that your health is adversely affected.
When your neck is hurting, or you are experiencing numbness in your fingers, is far too late to consider the shortcomings of your current work area's furniture. Fortunately, common sense has much to say when it comes to picking the best working set up for using a computer for hours at a time.

One of our recent taglines for our NOVALinked™ product was the subject of a couple of comments on one of our social media sites. The tagline is “Take Control…” The ellipsis can then be followed by the words: classroom, training room, lecture hall, office, customer service, reception area, etc. To understand the idea behind “Take Control…” it’s important to understand what NOVALinked™ is and how it works with The Trolley™ E-Class monitor lifts.
